The Best Shoes for Your Feet (And the Worst)

How many steps do you take every day? You can find out by using a fitness tracker.

Ideally, you want to aim for 10,000. If you do the math, that works out to be approximately five miles. Studies have shown that that’s enough to reduce the risk of certain conditions such as heart disease and high blood pressure.

Just make sure that you’re wearing proper-fitting shoes. The last thing that you want is to hurt your feet!

Going shoe shopping? Want to know what some of the best shoes for your feet are? If so, you’re on the right page.

We’ll be going over all that you need to know about the topic below. Keep reading to learn more!

Shoes You Want To Avoid

Just because a pair of shoes look great doesn’t mean that they’re good for your feet. Here are some styles that you might want to avoid.

High Heels

Frequent use of high heels can throw your body alignment out of whack. Not only does it cause your pelvis to tilt forward, but it also puts extra stress on your legs, back, and hips.

In addition to that, extra pressure is put on the ball of the foot, which can result in pain. In some cases, it can even lead to stress fractures!

Flip Flops

Flip flops provide no foot support. This can lead to plantar fasciitis, one of the most common causes of heel pain.

Achilles tendinitis is also a possibility. It occurs when you overstretch the tendon that connects the calf muscles to your heel bone.

Ballet Flats

Ballet flats are just as bad as flip flops. For one thing, there’s no arch support. In other words, there’s nothing to absorb the pressure that your body puts upon your feet!

Given that, it’s not surprising to know that they can lead to hip, knee, and back problems. There’s also a chance that it can cause plantar fasciitis.

The Best Shoes For Your Feet

Want to take better care of your feet? Consider wearing these types of shoes.

Sneakers

Sneakers are one of the best things that you can wear. Not only are they lightweight, but they’re flexible enough to support natural foot movement.

That’s not all, they also come with insoles that help support the muscles and ligaments of your arch. On top of that, they come with just the right amount of cushioning.

Sandals

Sandals are much better than flip flops. For one thing, they’re much more likely to have insoles, which allows for better alignment and comfort.

The straps will also support your heels as you walk. This will relieve some of the stress that’s put on your feet.

Caring For Your Feet

And there we have it—some of the best shoes for your feet (and the worst). If anything, the sacrifice of wearing the latest fad in footwear is not worth the risk of foot problems!
