Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is the most common form of heel pain. Planter fasciitis occurs when the band of tissue that extends from the toes to the heel becomes inflamed. The fascia first becomes irritated, then inflamed resulting in heel pain. Plantar fasciitis is most commonly caused by the structure of the foot. For example, people who have problems with their arches, either overly flat feet or high-arched feet, are more prone to developing plantar fasciitis. There are multiple non-surgical ways to help treat plantar fasciitis such as wearing shoes with a good arch support, stretching exercises, and putting an ice pack on your foot. If needed, there are also surgical methods to cure plantar fasciitis.
